Clients use Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to interface with clients and other trading partners. EDI is still widely used and considered the most prevalent means of communication.
Infoplus allows our clients to use Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to interface with clients and other trading partners. Although we recommend the use of our API whenever possible, EDI is still widely used and considered the most prevalent means of communication and therefore supported by our application.
Infoplus only supports the AS2 protocol and X12 set of standards (version 4010) for securely exchanging EDI messages with your trading partners. Before you can exchange EDI documents, you must set up AS2 partners (such as VANs) in Infoplus.
If you need additional assistance configuring or customizing your EDI setup, our Professional Services team can help you with tasks such as:
- Setting up AS2 partners
- Mapping EDI document fields to Infoplus fields
- Developing custom EDI solutions
Our Professional Services team has extensive experience with EDI and can help you ensure that your Infoplus EDI setup is configured to meet your specific needs.
This article covers the following:
- EDI Document Overview- overview of the various EDI documents supported by Infoplus.
- Supporting Unknown Doc Types - support any EDI document type not natively supported by Infoplus.
- How to Setup an AS2 Partner - establish a connection with your AS2 partner.
- How to Setup an EDI Connection - setup connections and manage them going forward.
- How to Test an EDI Connection - follow these steps to test your connection.
- Using Scripts to Manipulate EDI Connections - manipulate EDI data through the power of scripts.
Note: New EDI Documents Do Not Automatically Run After They Are Created
If you create a new EDI connection, you will need to go through your AS2 partner so the EDI Documents can flow through the right channels to be processed. Otherwise, the new EDI Documents will sit in pending and the connection will not work.
